Angamaly, situated 33 kilometers to the north of Ernakulam district, is one among a few municipalities in the state that is seeing unprecedented growth in the real estate sector. The town is spread across the intersection of the state highway Main Central Road (MC Road) and the National Highway 544 (previously NH 47). While the MC Road links Angamaly and Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala’s capital, the NH 544, which connects Kochi with Salem city in the neighboring state of Tamil Nadu, passes through the town. The NH 17 which links Kochi with Mumbai is just about 20 kilometers from Angamaly.

The town is only 5 kilometers away from Cochin International Airport in Nedumbassery and Angamaly railway station serves as a major connectivity point. All of the major trains that pass through the state stop at Angamaly. Further, Manjaly Thodu in Angamaly forms part of the National Waterways program and is under development.

Angamaly town is also home to a number of CBSE, ICSE, and state syllabus schools. They include Don Bosco central School, Vidyadhiraja Vidyabhavan School, De Paul E.M.H.S.S., and Government HSS in Manjapra, Puliyanam, and Mookanur. When it comes to colleges, some of the top institutions in the state such as St. Ann’s College, De Paul Institute of Science and technology, Adi Shankara Institute of Engineering and Technology, Federal Institute of Science and Technology, Sree Sankara College for Arts and Science, and Little flower Institute of Medical Science and Research are located in or around Angamaly. 

  • Suburban Lifestyle

Though the real estate sector is booming and infrastructural developments are underway, life in Angamaly is very peaceful and quiet. Other hospitals include Madonna Hospital, KG Hospital, and Government Ayurveda Hospital.

  • Adlux International Convention Centre

Adlux International Convention and Exhibition Centre located in Karukutty on NH 544 is by far South India’s largest convention center. It has more than 180,000 square feet of covered built-up space. Built-in 2013 in 40 acres of land owned by Puzhekadavil family, Adlux provides world-class facilities and amenities. The convention center boasts of ample parking space. More than 1,500 cars can be parked in the area earmarked for the purpose.

 Adlux has 3 event halls and 2 exhibition halls. The event halls Utpal, Kings Court, and Empress, have a seating capacity of 2500, 1250, and 1500, respectively. Apart from these three event halls, there is an open-air hall called Sukriti. This hall is provided with a roof but the sides remain open. Exhibition Hall 1 has an area of 64,000 square feet without any pillars and accommodates about 12,500 people. Exhibition Hall 2 which boasts of 70,000 square feet space is not air-conditioned.

  • Infopark at Koratty

Another reason for the spurt in demand for residential properties in Angamaly is the development of the Infopark at Koratty. The Infopark is located just about 10 kilometers from Angamaly. Further, the Inforpark can be accessed by car in about 20 minutes from the Cochin International Airport.

As a result of the locational advantages, high level of connectivity by road, rail, and air, and the availability of jobs with the development of the Infopark at Koratty, people from all parts of the state, and even nearby states are looking for houses for sale in Angamaly. This has driven the demand for houses in Angamaly. The tranquil and suburban lifestyle offered by the town, availability of good schools and colleges, access to modern medical facilities, and scope for entertainment and shopping activities have also contributed to the growth of the real estate sector.
